Learning Disability Parent and Carer Information Sessions

We regularly run a range of seminars throughout the year for parents/carers of children with a moderate to severe Learning Disability and/or Autism who live in North Derbyshire. These seminars are free and places are limited so please do book early.

Managing Restricted Eating

Friday 3rd May 2019, Chesterfield Based
9.30–12 noon

This session is about restricted eating patterns in young people with ASD and/or LD. It will help you understand those difficulties better, as well as thinking about what you can do to help your child..

Managing Anxiety

Monday 17th June 2019, Buxton based
9.30–12 noon

This session will help you understand what anxiety looks like in young people with ASD and/or LD, as well as the common causes of anxiety. Discuss and share ideas about tips and strategies to help your young person manage their anxiety.

These information sessions aim to support parents/caregivers of young people who have a diagnosis of moderate to severe Learning Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Foster carers should access our Professionals Seminars, which will be more appropriate.

For all sessions, please arrive at 9.15am for registration and tea/coffee, which will be provided.

Please contact CAMHS on 01246 514412 and ask to speak to Louisa Campbell or a member of admin and ask to book a session on the Parent Training Information Sessions or alternatively email us on: crhft.camhsadmin@nhs.net asking to be booked on and we will send you a confirmation and venue details.
