Learning Disability Parent and Carer Information Sessions

 

We regularly run a range of seminars throughout the year for parents/carers of children with a moderate to severe Learning Disability and/or Autism who live in North Derbyshire. These seminars are free and places are limited so please do book early.

 

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

PBS is the recommended approach for young people with learning disabilities and or Autism. This session will help you to understand some of the basic principles and approaches. It will also give you some ideas for managing any challenging behaviours.

Sensory Processing Difficulties

Thursday 6th December 2018, Chesterfield
9.30–11.30am

Sensory processing difficulties can sometimes affect young people and how they experience the world. This workshop will help to give an overview of the sensory system and ideas to help you support your child.

PLEASE NOTE

These information sessions aim to support parents/caregivers of young people who have a diagnosis of moderate to severe Learning Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Foster carers should access our Professionals Seminars, which will be more appropriate. 

For all sessions, please arrive at 9.15am for registration and tea/coffee, which will be provided.
