Workshops for Professionals

 
 

Introduction

 

At CAMHS, we offer FREE training workshops to all professionals that work with children and young people in North Derbyshire and the High Peaks and Dales.

These workshops are delivered by CAMHS professionals and cover a variety of topics including common mental health difficulties, learning disabilities and ASD. They give professionals the opportunity to learn about up-to-date mental health research, tools and apps, learn new skills and strategies and enables professionals to network with other services and other professionals.

There are also a number of resources available on our website. 

For parents of young people with a Learning Disability or Autism or professionals working with people with LD or Autism, a number of pre-recorded webinars can be accessed here:

  • Supporting Puberty and Sexuality - Tuesday 9th May, 2023. 9.30am – 12.00pm

  • Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to manage behaviours that challenge - Tuesday 4th July, 2023. 9.30am – 12.00pm

  • Understanding and managing anxiety - Wednesday 20th September, 2023. 9.30am – 12.00pm

  • Understanding and managing self-injurious behaviour - Friday 17th November, 2023. 9.30am – 12.00pm

PLEASE NOTE
These seminars are aimed at people who regularly work face-to-face with children / adolescents who have learning disabilities / ASD, in North Derbyshire, i.e. social workers, paediatricians, teaching staff, support workers, healthcare assistants.

All courses run from 9.30am – 12.00pm and take place via Microsoft Teams.
